2018 Musical – DO BLACK PATENT LEATHER SHOES REALLY REFLECT UP?
Audition Days/Times: Sunday, August 26 from 1pm to 3pm and 4pm to 6pm
Ages: 16 years & up
What to bring: Participants may audition at either time and should enter through the front Pavilion doors. All auditioners should come prepared with a 1-2 minute musical theatre audition piece and come prepared to read from the script. NO CDs and NO a capella pieces please. All auditioners must have accompaniment – a pianist will be provided if needed. There are no specific dance requirements but auditioners should be aware that there is some simple dance movements in the show. Schertzer is looking to cast 15-20 people of all ages (16 yrs +) in the show as nuns (played by adults), school kids (played by teens to adults, male and female), and a Priest (played by adult). All roles are featured throughout the show and are FUN to portray!

Character Breakdown: Seeking 8 women and 5 men for
STUDENTS:
Age range: Seeking 18- early-mid twenties. Character age from elementary school through high school.
EDDIE:
Show follows the coming of age of Eddie. He worries about his physical appearance, his changing voice, girls, and his lack of academic success.
BECKY:
Sweet, overweight and friends with Eddie. Not the most popular and teased by the other girls.
VIRGINIA:
Tough, sarcastic.
FELIX:
Not the brightest. Gullible. Dirty mind. Always getting whacked with the ruler
MIKE:
The tough kid. Eddie, Felix, Mike, Louie are friends.
NANCY:
Popular. Eddie asks Nancy to the prom.
MARY:
The perfect student. Virginia, Mary, Nancy are friends.
LOUIE:
A steady, all-around teen who is a friend to all.
TEACHERS:
Cast age range – Seeking age range 30-60
SISTER HELEN:
runs a tight class. Quick with the ruler
SECRETARY:
Efficient, typical High School Secretary.
SISTER MELANIE, SISTER LEE, SISTER MONICA:
typical 1950/1960’s nuns
FATHER O’REILLY:
No nonsense priest and teacher.
