Auditions – Nunsense II

Show Director, Kristi Wink announces auditions will take place for the musical comedy NUNSENSE II: THE SECOND COMING on Sunday, February 16 from 1pm to 4pm.
Those interested in auditioning should enter through the May Pavilion. All auditioners are asked to come prepared with a 1-2 minute musical theatre audition piece and come prepared to read from the script. No CDs and NO a capella pieces please. A pianist will be provided. There are no specific dance requirements but auditioners should be aware that there are simple dance movements in the show. Wink is looking to cast 5-16 people ages 18 years and up.
Performance dates for “Nunsense II: The Second Coming” are April 3 and April 4 on the Marion Palace Theatre main stage. In addition to the show, patrons may purchase tickets to a pre-show dinner in the May Pavilion.
Five major roles, six featured roles, plus a chorus
LEADS: AGES 18+
Sister Mary Regina — (Mother Superior) the Reverend Mother – a feisty, Sophie Tucker-type who
can’t resist the spotlight.
Sister Mary Hubert — (Mistress of Novices) – second in command, always competing with Mother
Sister Robert Anne — (Streetwise nun from Brooklyn) a tough character and a constant source of
aggravation for Mother Superior. Must perform in a Brooklyn accent.
Sister Mary Paul — (Nun who lost her memory) also known as Amnesia; puppeteer for Sister Mary
Annette – lost her memory after a crucifix fell on her head. She is very sweet. Will perform with
puppet (ala ventriloquism) and sings one solo in Country style.
Sister Mary Leo — (Novice who wants to be the first nun ballerina) Needs to portray the youngest of
the 5 leads. Will need to roller skate or rollerblade on stage while singing.
Father Virgil – Male 18+ (Convent Chaplin)
Sister May Wilhelm – Female 18+ (Convent Nurse)
Sister Julia, Child of God –Male or Female impersonating Julia Child 18+ (Convent Cook)
Sister Mary Brendan – Female 18+ (A teacher)
Sister Mary Luke – Female 18+ (A teacher)
Chorus – (Nuns, Brothers, Priests or Students)
