AUDITION TIME:
1p-2p children (ages 8-11); 2p-5p adults and children ages 12+ & dancers

AUDITION DETAILS:
Adults and children (ages 8-11) interested in principal and supporting roles are asked to come prepared to sing a one-minute Broadway-style audition tune. A pianist will be provided. No CDs, please. Those auditioning for lead and supporting roles should also be prepared to read from the script. Adult participants and children ages 12 and up, wanting to audition for a dancing role (non-singing) may also audition from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. All auditioners should come dressed in casual clothing and shoes appropriate for performing choreography.

Principals
WILL ROGERS (male – warm baritone low Ab-F)
The star of the Ziegfeld Follies, a strong, charismatic performer with the ability to entertain the audience with a natural and calming charm; knowledge or willingness to learn to spin a rope; ability to play guitar is ideal. Must deliver many long monologues.

BETTY BLAKE (female – alto low F-Eb)
Will’s wife, an engaging warm actress with the ability to sing many musical styles from romantic ballads to belted torch songs, strong performer.

ZIEGFELD’S FAVORITE (female – belter low G- mid Bb)
A showgirl, a knack for comedy, long-legged and statuesque.

CLEM ROGERS (male – baritone B-E)
Will’s sharp and witty father, a mature actor, who also doubles as Will’s butler and ranch pianist, does not actually have to play the piano; gruff and stern, also able to give fatherly advice.
