The Marion Palace Theatre is looking for a part-time House Manager to help oversee our venue operations and ensure our events are a success. Whether it’s a live performance, a film screening, or a private rental, the House Manager plays a vital role in creating a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests. If you’re organized, level-headed, and love being part of the magic that brings entertainment to life, we’d love to hear from you!


What Does a House Manager Do?

As House Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring everything is in place before, during, and after events at the theatre. Your role will include:

Event Coordination– Oversee operations during performances, film screenings, and private rentals, making sure everything runs smoothly.

Patron and Volunteer Communication– Greeting and assisting patrons, coordinating with volunteers, and ensuring everyone has the information they need.

Transaction Handling– Managing event-related transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Crisis Management– Handling any unexpected issues with professionalism, staying calm under pressure, and making quick decisions when necessary.

Multitasking– Managing multiple responsibilities at once, from keeping the venue tidy to answering patron questions.


Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

A strong communicator – Able to interact professionally with guests, volunteers, and staff. Organized and detail-oriented – Can juggle multiple tasks and keep things running efficiently.

Level-headed under pressure – Comfortable making decisions and solving problems on the spot.

Passionate about the arts – While not required, an appreciation for theatre, film, and live entertainment is a plus!

Available on weekends – Since most events happen on weekends, availability during these times is essential.

Box office will open 1 hour prior to all events. Please note that when the Box Office is open prior to an event, only tickets for that particular show are on sale.
