PALACE ACADEMY OF THE ARTS CAMPS & CLASSES


PRIVATE LESSONS

Private one-on-one lessons are also offered at the Academy. VOICE lessons with Jami Rawlins (ages 12 to adult) are available for interested participants. Private lessons are $35 per 30 minute class or $60 per 60 minute class. Private Sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. BALLROOM DANCING WITH KIRK AND MORGAN

 4 Mondays in a row, starting September 12. Each class 60-75 minutes in the May Pavilion

$12 per class or $40 for the series of four classes (per person)

YOGA CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Feel the restorative power that yoga brings to mind and body with Helene Everson, Certified Yoga Instructor and Yoga Alliance Member. Practice body awareness, yoga poses, relaxation, breathing techniques and meditation. Modifications will be offered based on your personal needs and abilities. Please bring a yoga mat and dress in clothing that allows you to move and breathe.

Session 1: 
Yoga – Wednesdays, Sept 14 – Oct 12 at 5:30pm
Chair Yoga – Thursdays, Sept 15 – Oct 13 at 10am
 
Session 2:

INTRODUCTION TO CALLIGRAPHY WITH PAM DEGOOD

This intro to calligraphy class, taught by professional calligrapher Pam DeGood, is the first step in your lettering journey. It is a 2.5 hour class where you will use a calligraphic marker to learn the basic stroke sequences. They are used to create the letter forms for the calligraphic style called Foundational which is the easiest style to start you on your lettering journey due to its upright formation. You only need to bring a ruler and a pencil because all other supplies are provided in your packet! Registration closes on September 13.

CARD MAKING WITH PAM DEGOOD

Do you love to make cards? Do you wish you could place the words exactly how and where you want them and also add some color and decorative elements to your words? Then this multicolored and fun class on Brushmarker Lettering taught by professional calligrapher Pam DeGood is just what you need! The best part is no calligraphic experience is needed to learn this lively style that is great for envelopes, cards, scrapbooking, journals and more! This 2 hour class will be filled with not only how to create the letter forms but in addition how to add depth and extra pizazz to them along with decorative elements that you can use as much or as little as you desire! Let your creative juices flow with this technique. The only thing you need to bring is a pencil and fine line black pen. All other supplies are provided for you! Registration closes on November 22, 2022.

SET THE STAGE SUMMER CAMPS – CHECK BACK SUMMER 2023

Designed for ages 7 to 15 years, Set the Stage Theatre Camp is a 5-day camp experience to give campers the opportunity to develop their performance skills, express their creativity, and have fun while making new friends.

*The Palace will continue to observe current safety guidelines. Policies and guidelines will continue to evolve with time and will be assessed and updated on an ongoing basis. 

6/1/2021 UPDATE: Masks are not required. The State continues to recommend them for un-vaccinated guests. When masks are worn, they may be removed for eating and drinking. Capacity restrictions and social distancing requirements are lifted.
